The Taste
Of Summer

We’ve been picking and packing Peaches since 1927! Season runs from May 1st to August 15th.

We have taken the drive for the last four years and 10 before that, the Chappell Farms peaches were bought to me. So delicious, sweet, firm, and juicy just can’t have one at a time. I eat two most time.  O Robbins, Local Google Guide

We’re Glad You Found Us

Welcome to Chappell Farms

The Chappell family is a fifth generation peach grower. The very first orchard was planted in 1927 by James Chappell in Candor, North Carolina. Farming became a family affair then as it is today.  Pat Chappell, attended Duke University and served in the US Marine Corps. After his service in the Marines, Pat began farming with his father and two brothers in North Carolina and In 1952, Pat Chappell and his bride Phylis moved to Kline, South Carolina and set out a peach orchard which has grown to be one of the largest peach operations in South Carolina.

It is in honor of our founder, H. Pat Chappell who joined the Lord in 2017, that the Chappell Family proudly continues his legacy. Today, the farm has grown into an operation that handles hundreds of acres of peaches and ships them throughout the United States and Canada. Approximately 15 different varieties are distributed under the brand of “Pat’s Pride”.

Chappell Farms is operated by his wife Phyllis, their son Bud and his wife Sonia, second son Tommy, and his daughter, Lynne.

SLOW COOKER PEACH BUTTER RECIPE

This delicious peach butter with vanilla bean is incredibly easy to make using a slow cooker or insta pot– perfect for those of us who might enjoy NOT having to peel the peach. Fruit butters differ from jams since the fruit is cooked down, generally slowly, until it thickens and even caramelizes.  Fruit butters are often made with apples, pears, and peaches, skin intact – seeds or pits removed, puréed to a smooth texture.

Left to reduce for about 18 hours, this slow cooker peach butter version with vanilla bean gets rather caramel-y and sinful.  Stirred rather infrequently, the peaches and added sugar caramelize and take on a very rich and complex flavor.
